Body & Soul

Body & Soul Yoga Studio is located in a quiet corner of Santa Cruz, tucked down the charming alley known as Squid Row. In one of the oldest buildings in Santa Cruz, the studio’s abundant natural light and bamboo floor sets a beautiful serene atmosphere for taking classes that nurture your body and being.

The studio offers an array of yoga, martial arts, & improvisation classes taught by committed and well-trained teachers.



What's New at Body & Soul ? --

Jill Duran will teach Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement® Thursdays 10:00-11:00AM, starting Nov 2. The class consists of verbally directed exercises, usually done lying down and sometimes sitting in a chair or standing up, and often based on functions like reaching, walking, bending, breathing, and turning. Kristina Jakab will offer a meditation class, The Awakened Mind, on Sundays from 1:00-2:00pm starting August 20. The class is about expaning your consciousness through meditation, mindfulness and personal empowerment. For Susan Merritt's classes, the drop-in single-class fee is $15; deals on Susan's multiple classes are $48 for 4-pack, $88 for 8-pack, and $160 for 16-pack.

How to join
Just show up at the class you want to attend, unless pre-registration is required. All fees are paid directly to the teacher.
When coming to class...
You may wear shorts and a shirt, or a leotard (or t-shirt) and tights that do not cover your feet. We advise that you dress in layers to remain comfortable as you warm up and cool down. Please don't eat for 1 & 1/2 hours before class. If you have any physical problems or injuries, be sure to inform the teacher before the class begins.
