Body & Soul

Body & Soul Yoga Studio is located in a quiet corner of Santa Cruz, tucked down the charming alley known as Squid Row. In one of the oldest buildings in Santa Cruz, the studio’s abundant natural light and bamboo floor sets a beautiful serene atmosphere for taking classes that nurture your body and being.

The studio offers an array of yoga, martial arts, & improvisation classes taught by committed and well-trained teachers.



What's New at Body & Soul

Denise Wendler will teach an all-level Iyengar Yoga class Thursdays mornings 8:30-9:45am starting Jan. 3, 2019.

Armando Alcaraz will start Music of Mindfulness sitting 1st and 3rd Sundays 4:00-5:00pm. The sitting involves sound and mindfulness meditation, live music, and an interactive talk. See Class Descriptions for more details. No sessions Dec. 2 or 16. He will have a special event on Sunday, Dec. 30 5:00-7:00pm

Meditation for Everyday Dharma Community, facilitated by Cecily Cahill, will meet 1st and 3rd Sundays 8:45-10:45am, starting 10/7. See Class Descriptions for more details.

For Susan Merritt's classes, the drop-in single-class fee is $15; deals on Susan's multiple classes are $48 for 4-pack, $88 for 8-pack, and $160 for 16-pack.

How to join
Just show up at the class you want to attend, unless pre-registration is required. All fees are paid directly to the teacher.
When coming to class...
You may wear shorts and a shirt, or a leotard (or t-shirt) and tights that do not cover your feet. We advise that you dress in layers to remain comfortable as you warm up and cool down. Please don't eat for 1 & 1/2 hours before class. If you have any physical problems or injuries, be sure to inform the teacher before the class begins.
